Bricks and Trees
Press Release / October 10, 2022

CAMBRIDGE, Md.

In keeping with its promises to the community, CWDI has arranged for bricks salvaged from the Dorchester General Hospital to be available as mementos to those interested in having one[.] On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 12, 2022, bricks will be piled on the graveled lot near the intersection of Byrn and Hayward Streets. “Anyone interested can simply walk up to the pile and select a brick,” said Matt Leonard, CWDI’s Executive Director.

CWDI has also made arrangements for the two large English Elms on Byrn Street to be pruned under the direction of a certified arborist, sometime this fall. “We take great pride in having Maryland ’s champion English Elm and its companion at Cambridge Harbor,” says Leonard. “Their protection and preservation are being embedded in our long-term plans.”
