Don Murphy, Board Member

Don earned a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Baltimore, and has spent his career applying the principles of real estate economics, both  in theory and in practice. He began early, purchasing his first investment property while still in college, and has nearly two decades of experience in commercial real estate, marketing and economic development. Along the way, Murphy remained actively engaged in the industry as a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), and earned professional designations including Real Property Administrator (RPA) and Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA).

In addition to his private-sector experience, Murphy has served multiple terms in the Maryland House of Delegates, where he developed a strong understanding of the intersection between public and private partnerships. Murphy has positive relationships with elected officials on both sides of the aisle at the federal, state, and local levels, which will be beneficial in helping CWDI navigate the complexities of a project of this scale.

Don is currently retired and lives in Cambridge with his wife of 41 years, Gloria.
